This fire pit is the best. Plenty deep and built to last - as long as you don't leave it out in the rain like I did too many times. First one lasted 8 years. I will definitely cover this one!Edit-- deducted a star for immediate rust. The grill in the bottom and mesh screen rusted after initial use. The paint must not be waterproof. Paint both and you should be fine. The rest seems like it's coated better. End edit --This was too expensive for the fitment issues. The ring around it looks cheap because it shows the tapered seams and the screen top is the wrong size. The material and design are good and it's quite large. Buy it when it's on sale.It was pretty easy to assemble, well made and we just used it tonight again. We've really enjoyed it. It kicks off just enough warmth. Like the rail you can safely rest your feet on.We are very pleased with this fire pit! It is very sturdy, and it has a beautiful design. We have had no problems with rust as some other posters mentioned they had. We do cover it every night with a generic fire pit cover. It has a flat bottom which allows you to stack wood in just the way you want, and it burns down evenly. We previously had a round bottomed fire pit, and the fire was always lopsided and hard to maintain evenly. It is a rather large fire pit, but it's perfect for making a toasty fire. It's a better size for us than smaller pits, as we can invite friends over and sit around the fire! Our whole family can enjoy the fire!Pros: Attractive, heavy construction, has a grate to hold the firewood about 1" off bottom of bowel, legs screw in very securely.Cons: Tubular metal ring (around top edge) comes in four pieces, each piece having a metal plate for attaching to the fire bowel via four screws. The top left nut on each of the four pieces was easily stripped out during assemble, leaving the metal ring 75% secured to the fire bowel at each point. However, the remaining three screws are quite secure. Enough that I am not going to send it back. Besides, I don't think the ring in intended to be a carry handle for a fire bowel full of wood.Note: Does not come with a long handled lid lifter for removing the metal screen when hot. Will need to purchase that separately. We are big firepit people, so we were pretty excited to "upgrade" to this item. It only took 3 days to arrive, I put it together rather easily, and we were couldn't wait to use it! Despite it being "just a firepit," I actually read the care instructions, and I was sure to follow them as we felt that we wanted to keep this one for a while. After each fire, we let it burn out naturally, not dumping water on it (as that was specifically-mentioned in the care instructions), and I always cleaned it out the next morning before covering it up with a weatherproof cover (purchased separately).Well, it's only been 5 weeks and probably a dozen fires, and, despite the same level of care that was recommended in the instructions, it looks like it's been left out in harsh weather for MONTHS (again... weatherproof cover was purchased AND used). Rust started forming, grating warped, and it is a bit embarrassing when we think of spending almost $200 on something that looks worse after 5 weeks than our previous firepit did after *7 years* but STILL looks marginally better than the new one without all the extra care we gave to the Uniflame WAD1009SP Oil Rubbed Outdoor Firebowl with Geometric Design.Incredibly disappointed...Decent fire pit although some of the "oil rubbed" looks like oil spilled. Screen dome does not fit properly (diameter of dome does not fit diameter of pit so unless you get it just right, it falls in). Waiting for written confirmation from Blue Rhino customer service that a new screen will be sent (per telcon, it wasn't going to be an issue. Blue Rhino did want a e-copy of my receipt and photos. I have know the email was received by them, but haven't received a "read" receipt yet). Had no trouble assembling any part of the pit. Decided the handle looked like a space ship so took it off. Will not burn anything until we find out what is happening with the dome. Will provide update at that time. Note: the cover Amazon promotes for this pit does not cover it as shown in the photo. At least 6 inches of the body is exposed. Is it a poor match or is it that the dome we have is part of the problem?Great value for the money. Big sized.Solid fire pit... easy to assemble... a little pricey compared to other models but I’m assuming its durability will explain that...I put paver’s sand at the bottom to avoid corrosion (something I read in other reviews) and I also purchased a cover for it (Sunnydaze Round Outdoor Fire Pit Cover)The side design of the pit has been a noticeable aspect by othersHowever, the cover is a little flimsy...room for improvement thereOverall, I’ve used it 5 times ... so far so good... very pleasedNice looking and sturdy enough, holds a good fire, but was not a perfect circle so the lid fits on a little wonkyLove the large size. Some predrilled holes for assembly were stripped but it does not affect the overall stability.Big enough to have a great fireVery happy with this! Really large capacity for a nice fire.
